Book Review: Finding Me

If found myself saying, “W W V D”, after listening to Finding Me, Viola’s memoir. It was more difficult to read/listen to than I expected but if you have the courage to stay with it to the end of her journey you will be rewarded with so much joy. I highly recommend the audiobook because I love hearing Viola tell her own story. I will never look at Viola the same, she has become a Superwoman to me. Over the past week, when I’ve wanted to fold, I just say to myself, “What would Viola do?” I know whatever small thing I’m complaining about, I can overcome because Viola has experienced much worse and she overcame it. I compiled a short list of things Viola would do, inspired by her life story.

5 Things Viola Would Do:

1. She would thrive in spite of the pain and trauma she is experiencing.

2. She would seek help to heal herself from her trauma.

3. She would keep going and striving for her dreams even when poverty and shame had a vise grip around her neck.

4. She would allow herself to be loved by one of the kindest men to ever exist.

5. She would break generational curses by pouring love into her own child.

Next up: I’m binging How to Get Away with Murder. I feel ashamed that I haven’t seen this yet but in my defense I didn’t have a lot of time for TV watching when it was on.
